Wonderful as always mate. Now you got me thinking about using Nikon lenses
instead of Canon. I just got myself a Canon 7D and in the process of
checking out some affordable but decent lenses. Anyhoo a bit off topic.
Thanks for the vid. Cheers Jim

@Dombowerphoto its like in photography you want to keep your iso low so
that you dont get a lot of noise but instead of using iso 100 or 200 in
video mode you should only use 160 ,320 and so on because other iso’s are
just virtual iso’s for example iso 640 would have less noise than iso 200

Dombowerphoto says:

@WhiteNrProduction all the info is in your instruction book that came with
your camera

3guys1girlandfetus says:

@pbmbuss you should double your shutter speed for example 24fps= 50 shutter
speed since there is no 48, 30fps= 60shutter, 60fps=125 shutter follow the
180 Degree Shutter

LEXPIX says:

Nice demo Dom. I’ve always wondered how the ISO’s looked in video mode.
Can’t wait to get the upgrade to my D700 hoping to offer full frame video.

Dombowerphoto says:

@Coccc22 no typo there, check my older videos you will see i only have
nikon glass but use canon bodies for video and some shooting

LEXPIX says:

@Dombowerphoto I currently have the D700 and know it does not have video,
the upgrade to the model hopefully will have it.

Dombowerphoto says:

@pbmbuss your shutterspeed will have an affect on the look of the video.
different speeds different looks different amounts of blur

Dombowerphoto says:

@3guys1girlandfetus dont get those options on the 550d

Dombowerphoto says:

@CEEPMDEE never used dxo optics nor lightroom 3, still on lr2.6 for me at
the moment

MrNullifier says:

what do you mean by 1/30 of a second? By the way it’s pretty amazing low
light performance.

3guys1girlandfetus says:

hey dom you should only use iso in 160, 320, 640, 1250, and 1600 and your
shutter speed should be 50 following the 180 rule

lwj033 says:

What Lens do you recommend the most for video mode? With Great Depth of
field?

3guys1girlandfetus says:

@Dombowerphoto its kind of difficult to explain you should google it, it
would be much easier for you to understand.

Coccc22 says:

F1.4 is impressive. I didn’t know u can mount a nikon lens on a canon? Is
that right or a typo?

tony77tony77 says:

@Coccc22 yes but u need a converter

Dombowerphoto says:

@LEXPIX d700 does not do video

Dombowerphoto says:

@MrNullifier that is the fps or maybe it was the shutterspeed, one or the
other

Dombowerphoto says:

@3guys1girlandfetus what is this rule and what is it useful for?

Dombowerphoto says:

@lwj033 if you want a great depth of field you need a wide angle, if you
want a shallow depth of field then you need a less wide angle and a bigger
aperture, ie a 50mm f1.4 will have a very shallow and cinematic depth of
feild compared to a 10mm wide angle

CEEPMDEE says:

Cool. Sooooo, Dom which would you recommend DXO OPTICS PRO 6 OR Adobe
LIGHTROOM 3? I need help choosing wich one, I really like dxo’s single shot
H.D.R feature. I have a nikon D700.

ho444444ney says:

great … thanx

etrusca777 says:

wow…amazing! I just have a crappy compact camera…but Im saving for a
proper one now… Thanks for the video Dom !
